Hello,

My name is Katie Grossman. I am entering my senior year at the University of Michigan. This summer my brother, Brian and I will be running several fitness clinics for girls. Our weekly clinics will take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays at the Percy Walker pool field. The 9-10am clinic is for girls entering 4th and 5th grades and the 10-11am clinic for girls entering 6th through 8th grade.

The main focus of our program is to develop the girls’ physical strength and endurance and build their emotional confidence. We will incorporate functional training exercises and sport-related games to enhance their agility, speed, power, flexibility and core strength. The program will consist of five, one week sessions beginning Monday, July 9th and running through August 10th. The cost is $45 per week*.

Brian and I are both college athletes. I was a varsity rower on an athletic scholarship at the University of Michigan for two years and Brian just completed his second season of basketball at Wheaton College. Brian has been a coach at the Duxbury Recreational basketball camp for the past few summers. Last year Brian organized and ran his own basketball clinic for middle school boys at the Kingston Sports Center. I have experience training a number high school and college athletes along with several adults in the South Shore area. This past year I also interned for the Girls on the Run Program in a suburb of Detroit, coaching and mentoring young girls.

There has been a positive response to the clinics thus far. We hope you can help us spread the word. Thank you and please feel free to contact me with any questions.

* A portion of the proceeds we make running these clinics will go towards a non-profit. A friend and I are planning on opening a healing center for female victims of decades of war in Uganda. This center will provide these women with resources and opportunities to attain a better life. Our goal is to connect and empower young women globally.
